Decoration Day

The usual requiremcnts for Dccoration Day will be observed iu Ann Arbor, Satunlay, May 30. The placo for general assembly will be aromul the court house square. At 9 o'clock a. m. a detail f rom the Army Post will proceeelto theSt. Thomas burylng ground, to decórate with llowers the graves of the soldiers buried there. At 10 a. M. the Army Post with life and drum corps and uring squad will proeeedto Forest Hill cemetery and perform the ritual service at the grave of Col. N. E. Welch, and likewise decórate with tlowers the graves of the otlicr soldiers buried there. In the af lernoou the time for assembling will be 2:30 o'clock, and the procession will move promptly at 3 o'clock. All civil aiul military organlaatlons, or individuáis, upon foot, mouuted or in vehicles are nvited to joiu in the procession, led by the Grand Army Post and Co. A, of the state troops. And for the sake of .order and ,rcgularitv in movement they will report to the marshal, Lieut. E. N. Gilbert, at the court house for assignment in the procession. All old soldiers are invited to f all i:i with the Grand Army. The line of march will be to the soldiers' monument in the iifth ward cemetery. Thence, after a brief service, strewingof llowers, decorating of graves, and liring of salute, they will proceed to the stand near by and listen to the remaining exercises. The following are those who were cho.sen to make blief remarks or read selections upon that occasion: Col. H. S. Dean, Rcv. W. H. Ry der, Capt. C. H. Manly, Mrs. Eli Moore, Robert Campbell, Prof. C. E. Greene, Dr. W. F. Breakey, Lieut. J. II. Stark, and Dr. Geo. A. Hcndryx. The instrumental music for the afternoon will be furnished by the Chequamegon band, of the university. The vocal music for the stand under the direction of Dr. Dorrance, assisted by Prof. Wilsey and bis class of young lady singers. The stand and monument will be decorated by the Ladies' Decoration Society. The grounds are elevated and capacious, and für those with vehicles there will be sofficlent hitching places for horses. The public geuerally are invited to atend. Slioulil the weather be unfavorable the stand exercises will be held in the court house. All contributions of llowers should be sent to the basement of the court house ;or üfth ward engine house) as early as eight o'clock in the morning of the day, if possible. AH matters pertaining to the day not directly asslgned to the marshal or the sub-coinmittees, will be referred to the execntlve committee or the Post Commander.
