Prof. Stowell was in Detroit Saturday. The board of state visitors were in the city Saturday. The governor has approved the university appropiation bill. The senior hop this year will be a tony affair, with extras thrown in. The lecture of Senator Jones on Fri day evening is well spoken of. Friday evening tbe Ohoral iiinuii gave a very successful entertainment. The Olee club has of late been favoring some of onr citizens with serenades. Howard Ayres, lit '83 untiJ hu junior year, was in the city the latter part of last week. At the reception to be given by the uni versity senate, Frank Hangnterffr wil] do the catering. Mrs. T. 3. Ramsdell and non Cari, of Mumstee, arrived last Friday to ps son Fred.a visit. The alumni dinner of the pharmics will be given Wednesday. Caterer, Prof. R. Granger. The students will be obliged to liye in hopes of au appropriation f rom the next legislature for a gymnasium. Tho. J. Peach, lit '85, is spending the week at his home in Pontiac. He wil] return in time for graduatiou. R. L. Davis, librarían, spoke before tne Studente' Christian association Sunday, on "The Peace of God." Through the agency of President Angell the Chinese exhibit at New Orleans has been donated to the university. A. L. Stevens, medie '87, lef t for his home at Jacksonville, 111., Friday. He will probably not be back next year. The adventists of Battle Creek have loaned their tent to the seniors, in which to hold their reception Thursday evening. In a game of base ball Saturday, between the Universities and the Clippers of Hamilton, Ont., the former won by a soore of 9 to fi. The ladies of the Gamma Phi Beta society took a trip to Ypsilanti Saturday. They went to play a game of lawn tennis with some ladies at Ypsi . While playing base ball on the campus, Friday afternoon, C. H. Kline, law '86, was knocked senseless by a swift ball, which struck his temple. The Ypsilanti Commercial says that the university glee ' club is gathering unto themselves quite a reputation, and are putting to good use their past work. Prof. Kent finished his lectures to the laws Monday, Prof. Hutchins Tuesday, Prof. Hogers Wednesday, and Prof. Wells yesterday. Thus ended the fonrth lesson. The commencement concert by the Amphion club, will come off Monday evening. An extended notico of the entertainment appeared in Tuk DbMoobat last week. Alumni and former students of all departments of the university, membeis of the several faculties, members of the dassen graduatinf{ this year, and alumni of other colleges visiting the University, are entitled to tickets. No person will be admitted except on presentation of a ticket. The dinner tickets can be procured by the persons above designated on application at the steward's office in uuiversity hall at any time from Tuesday morning next a 9 o'clock to noon of the following I'hursday, oommencement daySpecially invited gueste will recuive com plimentary tickets with their invitations.
