Two brothers f rom Pitt-sfteld, Mass., nameJ V. F. and II. F. Hermanee, agcd respcctively S and 18 ycars, reached New Orleans Feb. 25, rom Livingston, Montana having troveled ,500 miles in an open light canoe since July 4, 885. The trip w as maile purely for love of adventure. The eider was lately assistant varden of the asylum at Pittsüold and the oungcr was ma ling clerk at the postoffice. l'wo 'canoes were used until liey reaehed N'atchez, Miss., where one was ilcstroyed by nnning on a snag anl it was abandoned, both of them takiiii; i assage on the Eda, whlch Is hc name of their little eraft. The brothers eft immeiiitely for the gulf, and will only eouut t'ieir trip complete when they have asscd throueh the jettie. The hardships of hc trip have a romantic color, bevond a little spell of $ickness thcy have made the voyaee in safety, althouijh they had unwekome advenureswith Indians and blizzurds. The Eda is .5 fcet lonsr, 34 luches beaih, is made of yellow )inc and is provtded with dry storage compartneuts. The couple are pfovided with a gun and cooking uteusils and cainped out every night. ,
