Through every newspaper office, daj bj day; fothe weakneses of tlie worid, the vanit es that want to bo puffed, tho revengea that want to be wreaked, all the mistakes that want to be corre ted, all the dull speakers who want to be thonght eloquent, all tho meanness that wants to get its wares noticed gratis in the editorial columns in order to save the tax of the advertising column, all the men who want to be set right who never wcre right, all the erack-brained philosophers, with story as long as theirnair, and as gloomj' as tbeir tínger natls, in mourning becanse bereft of soap; all the ïtinerant bores who come to stay five minu es and stop an honr. From the ed.torial and reportorial rooms, all tho follies and shams of the worid are seen day bj' day, and the emptationis to bclievo neither in God, man nor woman. It is no surprise to me tbat in your profession there are some skeptical men."
