Louis Lingg, the man supposed to haye manufactured the dynumite bomb used in the hiiymarket riot in Chicago, is still under the closest custody. Capt. Schaack, who arrested him, says that Lingg had confessed to him that he was a born anarchist, and he carne to this country from Zurich, Switzerland, with the intention of spreading anarchistic doctrines. He caine here last August and immediately associated himself with the leaders of the anarohistic party. "Lingg is a well educated young man," said Capt. Schaack ; "he is only 22 years of age, bilt has learning beyond his years. I have a largo nuniber of letters writen to him by people not only in this country, but in Europe. They are evidently the work of men of ability. From their ability I am satisfied that Lingg was one of the most trusted agents of the anarcliists in this country. Une peculiar feature about Lingg is his intense devotion to the canse of anarchism. He has told me that he was ready to die for the cause -in faut, he says he would be only too glad to be sacriHced for the sake oí the principies he advocates."
