Twenty-fiye years May 22, President Lincoln reviewed from the White Honse steps the first Michigan regiment as they passed through to theseatof war. TwentySve years ago Monday, the 24th, was the anniversary of the day the regiment invaded Virginia. Congressman O'Donnell, Col. Ira. u! Abbott, who was colonel of the regiment, and C. P.Lincoln of Washington who was an orderly in the regiment, called upon President Cleveland to celébrate, in a quiet way, the twenty-flfth anniversary of the occasion. Mr. Cleveland made soma pleasant remarks, the other gentlemen did the same, and the visitorfj left well pleused with their visit.
