In 1854 he left the pulpit for editorial work and became oneofthe ]nprietors of the Examiner, the leadiiifi paper of his denominatiou. Dr. Cburco was a del├ęgate to the First Evangellcal Alliance held in London In lUi;md was, with others, excluded bei-.iu.-i1 of the existence of slavery in the United States.
