The GuiĆ³n line steamer Nevada, whieh arrived in New York on the 8th inst., brought 715 steerage passengers. Among tlioiu were 426 new converts to the Morrnon faith, and a motely crowd they were. Over 300 were Seandinavians and Swiss and the remainder English-speaking. A notieeable feature was that not one person of Irish descent was among the number. There were old men of 70 and women of 60, young girls of 12 and 14 aud boys of the same age. Children were present in swarms, of ages varying from six months to ten years, and female portion of the arrivals out-numbered the male three to one. The convorts are in charge of eighteen elders ofthe church, one of whom claimed thfit over 700 more recruits to the faith would arrive during August and September.
