While bathing in Morris Lake, near An oka, Mimi., Klla Goslin, aged 17,years, Nettie uoalin. aged 15, daughters of Josepb. L. Goslin of St. Francis, and Jonnie Joy, aged 15, daughter of S. H. Joy of MiunĂȘapoiis, were nrowned. The two last named had waded out about three rods from the shore, where they steppcd into a hole, sinkiug out of sight. Ella immediately went to their assistance but was caugtit by the drowning girls and pulled under the water. The only other persou in the vicinity was a Miss Nutter, an adopted daughter of Mr. Joy, who was terrorstrieken and obliged to see her companions drown, powerless to help them. Tlie bodies of the three young ladies were re covered within an hour, but all efforts to resuseitate them were without avail. Miss Joy was a cousin to the Goslin girls, and wil li Miss Nutter was on a visit to them. They wero all accomplished young ladies and moved in the best society.
