The president left Washington on the lGth int for, a nnmth's vacalion in the Adirondacks in Northern New York. He will be accompanied bv Mrs. Clevelmd and her moiher, Mrs. Folsom. No mail will be forwarded to liim or opened by liim during his absence. Any public business requiring his immediate consideration will be brought to his attention by the cabinet oflioers. To the numerous special correspondente who have askerl to accompany him upon his trip, the president -aid tbat he was sure the public did not desire that minute details should be given of all his movementü during his vauatlon, as such a oonrse would utterly defeat the object and pui'poses of his trip. which are for rest and quiet and freedom from annoyance. He believes that the people are willing to concedo this to him, and so far as their requirements are concerned in the matter of news, that they will be satisfled to permit him a release from impertinent ïntrusions, and he believes that the decent presa of the country are also willing that this should be aceorded to him. At any rate he will eel fully justified in an effort to render unsuccessful any atternpt to defeat his wish in this particular. Jn recognition, however, of pardonable curiosity as to any incident of interest that may take place during his vacation, he has himself made .Miangements whereby anything that the public should be lnterested in, or ought to know concerning his movements. will be furnished the ageuts of thö regular pruss associulious.
