The meteoiologist, Prof. Fowler, says in the Burlington Hawkeye that one of the greatest storm periods ol 18ÍS6 will begin on August 10 and contin ie till the 27th, dunngwhich the great drought will be Conipletely hroken by heavy rains, hail and tornadoes and heavy gales and a tropical hurricane on the southeast Atlantic ooast between the lüth and 17th. These Btorms will be general and Iowa, Illinois, the New England States, Eastorn Canada and Labrador will lie in the danger path. Vivid sun spots from the 18th to the 34th and brilliant auroras on the 20th aud 23d are predictod.
