The question ivhich is regarded as a vory important oiie, has received earneet añil thorough consideration, and ttaere now seems to be u probability that they will be placed on tho Ft. Marión military resn, ition at St. Augustine, Fla., where Chihuahua and his band are now quartered. The smullness oL this roservation is, however, regarded as a serióos faut, and some other place less objectionable nitiy yet be selccted. It is stat'ed that the dotcntion at Fort Leavenworth, Kas., of Cliief ChattO and his dozen companions, whp were retuj-ninij to their roservation from a visit to Washington, and who, as well as QeroniiEO and hifi band oi renegadas, buloiiR to ,the Chiracahuas, were ordered as a precaution against their anticipatfd Mttr opposition to the soheme of removal. It is al-o st&Md tJk&t tho president has given liis wiUing consent te tho chango, and has placed tho details in tht hands of Secretary Lamar and Gen. Sheridan, and that he warnily approves of the vigorous policy of Gen. Miles and believes that the peaoe of the Southwest (Iemands that the hostiles sbould be pursued until capturud or exterminated, and that Gerónimo, hen captured ehould be punUhed as other pei-petratora of high crimes are punished.
