Tho lii-itisli parliament was prorogued Sept. 2.5 until Xov. 11. Assmances to the same effect have been given by the othcr powers. The domarration of tlie Afghan frontier has advanced to within a few miles of the River Oxua. In view of tho approaih of winter my commission have been withdrawn, but the information they have obtained will be sufficient for the determination by direct negotiatious between the two courts of that portion of tho frontier which still rcmains unmarked.
