A niiildlo aged man, William O'Fallon, went into a saloon opposite the Union depot in St. Joseph, Mo., the other night, nnd after sitting thore a short time feil asleep. Some person or persons unknown saturated his clothes witn coal oil, struck a match and set fire to O'Fallon'sclothing. ín a frenzy of pain he rushed into the Street. Several bystandors attempted to quench the íiro by wrapping their coats around him, but in vain. A Street car carne along and the driver had a blanket which he pitched into the mud and water of tho street, and wrapped tho man in its dnmpcned folds. ïhis extinguished the fire nnd a patrol wagon was called nnd the man was taken to the city hospital, whero he died tho next day. The oil had been poured down tho back ot his neck, and the flesh on his back and limbs was literally roasted. AU efforts to iiuil out who the guilty partias are have proved futile.
