The Republicans elect 148 members of the legislature and the Democrats thirtr-flve. Special effort was made by the üemocrats to capture tho legislature and defeat Hale, but he will bo renominated by acclamatiou a.nd elected by the largest vote ever thrown in Maine for United States senator. Our victory, taking it all and all, is the groatest Kepublican triumph ever achieved in Maine."
