Edward J. White died Nov. 12, at Plattemouth, Nebraska, of inflammation of the bowels after a four-days' illness. Deceasedwas a quiet will-behaved and well-beloved young man, who has beer employed for several years in the B. & M. paint shop. He was a lover of music, aud was noted as an expert of no oommon ability upon a variety of instrumenta. Those who enjoyed nis acquaintanoe speak of him as a f riend long to be remembered for his man y admirable qualities and accomplishments. Before coming to Plattsmouth he lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where his father now resides, his mother being dead. He was 22 years old. The funeral obsequies ooourred Nov. 14, under the auspices of the A. O. U. W., of whioh he was a metnbor. The lervices were attended by a large conoourse of the members of the several lodges of the order and other sympathizing triends The remains were escorted from the residence of his undle, Will White, to the M. E . church, where a beautiful and appropriate discourse was preached by the pastor. JRev. Alexander, preceded and followed by the choir. At the close of the servioe an opportunity was given to take a last look at the remains and then the funeral cortege began its maren to Uak Hill oemetery, to the music of a dirge by the B. fe M. Band. Following the band were the members of the A. O. U. W., to the number of 350, on toot, marohing in doublé lile; then followed the hearse and the relativos and friends in carriages. Arriving at the grave the beautiful burial oeremony of the order was read, a hymn was suug by a doublé quartette and the services ooncluded by an iiivocation by Rev. Alexauder, and earth closed over the final resting place of all that was mortal of one who i week ago was a bright and promising young man, whose years of usefulness had apparently just begun.- Plattsmouth Daily Journal. The deceased was a son of Jas. D. White of the fifth ward, and brother of Mrs. Abner Moore.
