Tüe Washtenaw county democratie convention, to elect delegates to the state and judicial conventions, was held at the court house Monday . The delegates were the representatve men of the party, who have done yeomen's service in the past for the cause of democracy. The convention was called to order at 11 o'clook, by the chairman of the county committee, J. F. Schuh. Hou. Chas. R. Whitman of Ypsilanti was chosen temporary chairman and Henry D. Merrithew of this city, temporary secretary. After the appointment of the asnal committees the convention adjourned nntil halt past one o'slock . AFTERNOON SESSION. On reconvening M. J. Lehman of Chelsea, chairman of the cummittee on credenlials read a list of the delegates entitled to seats, wbich report being aocepted, D. Cramer of Ann Arbor reported the order of business recommended by the committee, which report was also adopted. The temporary officers were made permanent. Then followed the election of Hon Chas B. Whitman and J. i'. Schuh as delegates to the state convention, and the Hon. Jno. J. Kobison and D. Cramer as delegates to the judicial convention . The convention then separated into districts and elected the following delegates to the state and judicial conventions. THE DEIiEOATES To the state convention: First District- T. McKone, Chels-ea; G. Second District- Frank P. Bogardus, Martin Cremer. J. W. Babbitt, Ypsilanti; Henry Paul, Pittsfleld; J. D. O'Brien, Augusta; Leopold Blaess, Lodi; Andrew J. Warren, Saline; M. ,T. Kavenaugh, Sharon. To the judicifil oonvention: First District- Patrick Tnomey, Soio; H. D. Merrithew, Wm. J. Miller. Ann Arbor; Geo. W. TurnBull; M. J. Lehman Chelsea; Patrick S. Purtell, Northfleld; Wm. H. Arnold, Scio. Second District - C. L. Yost, Chas. McCormick, Geo. Palmer, J. L. Lowden, John Terns, Ypsilanti; Jacob Knapp, Freedom; Lester Sweetland, Lodi; Chas. Roberts, Pittsfleld. Af ter the list of delegatos had been ratified, J. J. Robison offered the FOLLOWING BESOLUTION: liesolved, That the democracy of Washtenaw county approves the action of our state senator and representativos in the state legislature, in voting " No,'' on the joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state constitutioo, prohibitingthe sp Ie andjmanufacture of mtoxioat ing liquore. Cramer opposed it and undertook to choke the movor down, but thechairman decided that Mr. Robison was entitled to the floor, and he spoke for some ten minutes in favor of the resolution, which was carned, with but two negative votes. In ju8tice to Mr. C, however, it should be said that he voted for the resolution. There beingno further business before the convention an adjournment was taken. CONVENTICttr NOTES. Mr. Whitman made one of his charaotenstic speeches on accepting the chairmanship. D. Cramer, as usual, had considerable to say, and he said it, notwithstanding eome delégate cried, "Put him out!"
