"Bienzi" was first brought out at the Drury Lane Theatre, October 4tu, 1828, with Charles Young as Rienzi. A MS. copy of it was brought to America by Hacready in 1828, and was produeed ïere in January, 1829, at the old Park 'heatre, when the eider Wallack enaoted Bienzi. Barry and Peter Bichings were ia the cast, and Clandia was imlersonated by Mr. Hilson. The piece vas a brilliant success at that time. Jome idea of the magnitude of the work of produoing this play may be formed when it is stated that the new ecenery, proporties and costumes required make over two car loads. In the church scène, vhioh will be something magnifícent, eight well-dnlled voices from New York will take in the singing. Carte blanche was given to Hawthorne and Ëaves, the oostumers, and the resnlt of their eflbrts will be the exhibition of some extraordinary gorgeousness. Mr. Barrett has a art whioh is oonsidered equal to h's Jassius, and it is expected that it will e his crowning achievement. In the janquet soene, after Bienzi gains power, and by his riotous living brings disgrace apon his reign, the Bacchanalian revelry will be shown by an extravagant stage icture of this unparalleled wallow in lebauchery and the Circean cup. Mr. i., supported by a prominent company, will render the above play at the Grand opera house, on the evening of JMarch 8.
