The questioii as to whether the Interstate law would affect the employés of the postal service, by restricting thelr free travel, having arisen, the postmastergeneral askert the attorney-general for an opinión on thp hiilijoct. This opinión is in substance that the law does not affect tlu1 postal service, as agente of the departnient when traveling over rallroads to protect and distribute mails, or to investígate errors, frauds or crimes relating to them, are in discharge of thelr official duties, and are exempt from the provisión of the act.
