Oh! what is home! that sweet compamon, hip 01 life tho better part; The happy smile of welcoine on the lip Upspringing Irom the heart. It is the eager clnsp of kindly hands, The ong-rememberod tone, The rcady syinpathy which understands All-teeling by its own. The rosy check of little childrcn prossed To ours with loving glee; Tho presenco of our dearest and our best, No matter whore wa be. And, failing this, a prince muy homcles- live, Though palaco walls are nigh; And, having it, a desert shorc maj givo The joy wealth can not buy. Far reacliing as the earth's remotest span, Widespread m ocean foam, Ono thought is sacred in tho breast ol Man - It is the thought of home. That little word his human fate shall bind With destinieH above, For tliere the home of his immortal mind Is in God's wider love.
