C, and a teacher in a boy's school during tlie weck, was passing through the schoolhouse lawn a few days ago while some of the boys were playing ball. He was accidentalty hit in the face by a ball thrown by the centerfielder, who at once ran forward and begged the sehool-master's pardon. Mr. Plttard, Infurlated by the pain, knocked htm down, stamped on hiifi and dragged lilm nbout until the boy's companions nnited and drove the preacher away. The lad, who was in a frightful condltion, was cavried to the dormitory. Mr. Fittard callecl on the boys later and upbraided thein for not dragging him away somier, and said that he did not know what he was doing. The boy has died and Mr. Pittard has fled.
