There was a special iession of the council Monday night, with nearly a full board in attendance. The time for the paying of taxes was extended to March lst. The council organized as a board of registration with L. D. Wines as ohairmao and Wm. Herz as secretary. The Wednesday previous to the 27th of February, on which the local option election is held, falling upon the 22d of February, a legal holiday, the meeting of the board was called for Thursday the 23d, at the following places; lst Ward- A. V. Robison & Son's livery office. 2d Ward- W. Herz's shop. 3d " - Agricultural room court, house. 4th Ward- Firemen's hall. 5th " - Engine house. 6th " - Engine house. Timothy E Keating was chosen alderman in the 4th ward, and A. F. Martin m the 6th ward for registration and election purposes.
