Enster, the anniversary oL Chriflt's resurrectioii is again upon us. It is one of tiie greatest festivals of the Ohrietian ysar, and is uow not only observed by the , Episoopalians and Romanista over the entire civilized world, but also by many other denominations. And why sliould it not be? Was it not upon this day that Christ arose from the dead, and this orowning cvent in the earthly life of our Kedeemer has been celebrated by believers from the earliest period of chriBlianity down to the present time. In this country the churches are usually decorated with beautiful flowers, and the servioes particularly solemn and impressive. With Easter there are many peculiar and odd customs which have been observed throughout (jenerations and which still linger with us. The custom of distnbuting egga upon Easter is still observed among the children of the present day and the eending of Easter presenta has become as great as giving on other holidays of the year.
