Cincinnati's Centennial

A notable event will bo inaugurated on the 4th oí next July in Cincinnati- oue that will attract the attention of the en tire couutry. This is tho Centennial Exposition of tho Ohio Valley and Central States, held for the purpose of flttingly celebrating the lOOth anniversary of the iirst white settlement of the great Northwest Territory. It is a grand idea, and preparations have been in progresa for over a year past to render it worthy of its inspiration. The citizens of Cincinnati inspircd with this idea, willing taxed themselves a million dollars by subscribing to a guaranteo fund - a guaranteo that the exposition would be an honor to the city. with part of this ampie sura, magnificentbuildings have been constructed in whieh to exhibit the i thousands of artieles from all over the try for which space has been secured. These structures supplemented the permanent one that cost over a million of ■ lars and known all over the world as the Springer Music Hall, and in which annual industrial displays have been held for the past dozen years.
