Florista and otbers at the East have been discussies tho question of tho most popul&r ilower of the conntry. Some prefer the may-flower, some the rose, others the daisy. But Henrietta T. HoUowell, in uu article in the Boston Globe, champious claims of tho pansy as the Nul'onal Uower of America, saying : Watch the children in the public garden as they gather around thu brilliunt bed of their favorite, and its name, pansy, must certaraly occur to you. Pansy typiües tbougbt. Shakspeorc and Milfou both make honorable mention of it. Of the same genus as tho violet, by cultivatlon it has become mucu finer and richcr in its nature, as the people of the different natlonalities, develop into nobler men and women by becoining American citizens.
