E. P. Hoe the author, died suddenly at his home in Newburg, N. Y., July 20. Kev. Edward P. Koe was one of Amerlea'B most successful novelista in the sense of hls works meeting wlth Lrout sales. He began his career as a preacher in the Prcsbyterian phurch, but found more pleasure in experimenting with small fruits and writinp popular novéis, and several years ago he ajjandoned the active ministry, dovoting his entiro timo to literary work. His home at Qornwallon-thoHudspn, was frequently visitad by the New York authqrs' club, of v.hich Mr. Roe was a lui-uiber, and his eiitci-tainments were the delight of the braln workers of the great' ?ity.
