Conread Krapf, one of the oldest residents of Ann Arbor, died at his home on E. JefCerson street on Wednesday morning last., The immediate cause of his death was strangulation from hernia. Mr. Krapi was boni in lïuttenburg, Germany, January 15, 1810. He came to New York state in 183(5, and to Ann Arbor in 1837. For about forty years he was one of the leading contractors and builders of the city, and a man of great torce of character. For a number of years lie has been retired from business and lived quietly at home. He was twice married, his second wife dying about seven years ago. He leaves four sous; Herman and Richard Krapf 'of this city; Ottmar O., of West Saginaw; and Henry C. of Xew York city. The funeral 'was held from the house yesterday afternoon. Kev. J. M. Gelston officiated at the house, and the services were in charge of the Independent Order of Üdd Fellows, of which society Mr. Krapf was the oldes member in the city, if not in the state.
