To the Honorable Charles E. Hisooek Mayor of the City of Ann Ar bor. Sir: - You are hereby respectfully requested by the underáigned mam bem of the Common Counci cil oí said City, to cali a special meet ing of said Common Council to meet at the Council Chamber in the City o Ann Arbor on Monday the 23rd day of November A. D 1896 at the hour of half past seven o'clock p. m. to take action in referenco to the further employment of Mr. Punke, also in reference to the further employment of Mr. Groves by said city, also in reference to the further employment of the Sido Walk Inspector by said City, also in reference to the further employment of the bookkeeper of the Street Comsioner by said City, also in reference to the further employment by said City of any person of persons whatsoever whose service can now be dispensed with. Cady moved tbat the Rule 21 of the Rules of the Common Council be suspended for this session and the report of the Finance Committee approved. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Maynard, Moore, Koch, Grossman, Laubeng-ayer, Dell, Burke. Brown, Shadforth, Kbodes, Coon.Soule, Cady, Danforth. Pres. Hiseock- 15. Nays - None. Aid. Brown moved that the Board of Public Works be instructed to dispense with the services of Mr. Funke after I this week. Aid. Moore moved as an amendment that the services of Mr. Funke .be dispensed with when the work on Detroit street is completad. Lost as follows : Yeas- Aid. Moore, Dell, Shadford Rhodes, Coon, Soule- 6. Xays- Aid. Maynard, Koch, Grossman, Laubengayer, Burke, Brown, Dady, Danforth, Pres. Hiseock- 9. Whereupon the original vote was adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Maynard, Koch, Gross man, Laubengayer, Burke, Brown, Coon, Soule, Cady, Danforth, Pres. Hiscook-11. ISiays- Aid. Moore, Dell, Shadford, Rhodes- 4. RESOLUTION. By Aid. Dell. Resolved, That the President of the Council appoint a committee of tbree to confor with the Board of Public Works in regard to Mr. Groves they to report at the next regular session. Adopted as follovvs: Yeas - Aid. Maynard, Moore. Koch. Grossman, Laubenyayer, Dell Burke, Shadford, Rhodes, Coon, Soule, Cady, Danforth, Pres. Hiscock- H. Nays- Aid. Brown- 1, Pres. Hiscock appointed Aid. Dell, Koch and Shadford as such committee. j On motion the Council adjourned. Glen V. Mills, City Clerk.
