Some North Carolina Roads

Iu Mecklenburg connty, N. C. , the systematic improveruent of roads has been iu progress for nearly 15 years. The geueral plan ndopted was to start at the city limita of the countyseafc and to grade and macadam all public roads from thi8 point ont toward the township and the county limits. These roads have a width of 40 feet for the first two miles from the city limits and beyond this point a width of 3ö feet. The average cost of these roads, inclnding the macadamizing and grading, is about $2,000 a mile.
