The board of supervisors of Kalkas ka county refused to spread a tax for the soldiers' relief fimd as required by law, and now the Supreme Court hands down an order instructing them forthwith to meet and comply with the law, by spreading one-tenth of one.mill on each dollar of assessed valuation in the county. That is the county where the journal of the supervisors proceedings in an early day shows a resolution passed declaring a certain law then on the statu te books unconstitutional. It must be that some of those old dough heads are still "in offis" over there. The city council of Albion has passed an ordinauce proliibiting all persons under 18 years of age taking part in any game of pool or bülards, or staying in any room where such games are played. W. II. Newton of Pontiac, was awarded first and seeond prizes for fat sheep at the cattle show in New York city. He exhibited Oxford and Ilampshire yearling wethers. Rev. O. E.
