Maud Moss and Johnnie Bane are home from Anu Arbor High school for the holiday vacation. Tommy La vonder lias engaged to work for Wm. Ball for the coming year, and moved there last week. The Maccabees and their friends will celébrate the advent of 1897. Fridayj evening, Jan. lst, with a ball at the Clifton House. Our eitizens with the aid of Will ?piegelburg and bis buzz-saw. cut up the dominie's woodpile last week. Je peopïe. lïev. Mr. Ilicks delivered an address at Chesaning last Wednesday evening ai a public insl alia) ion of the otlicers of the Masonic lodge and chapter. The Ladies' Aid Society met at the parsonage recently, and in the evening, quite a company gathered and tendered lev. Hicka a licmitl amounting to over $50, and had a royal good timo as well. Mrs. W. 15. Ranewent to Columbas, Ohio, a few days since to spend the holidays with her daughter, and Will followedher later Wèdnesday morning, leaving L'ncle Frank to run the ranch alone. Miss Clara Elliott lias a new kitcben nearly flnished, a inuch needed improvement, and the Ladies' Benevolent Society of Webster remembered herself and family very liberally a few days i since. About sixty relatives and invited guests gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Lombard, ïhursday, Dec. 17th to witness the nuptials of their daughters, Miss Lillian May with Mr. John Weismyer, and Miss Francés Marian with Mr. Albert V. De Wolf of Hamburg. At 2:30 r. m. vhile Miss Xelüe Wilson played the wedding march the brides and grootns entered the parlor, where Rev. Mr. Ilicks, using the beautiful ritu-nl of the Methodist church. ratifled the marriage covenant between them in a solemn and impressive manner, followed by the congratulations of the company, afterwhich the guests repaired to the dining room and did ampie justice to the beautiful feast provided. Later the contracting parties took the train for Milford and Flint to visit f riends for a couple of weeks, when they will return and set up housekeeping.
