Boy Drowned At Manchester
Wbile skating on the middle pond Wednesday afternoon. , near Henry Aiehele's, (ieorge, a 12-year-old son of John A. ililler, carelessly skated into the open channel and was drówned. The body cume to the surface under the ice, and was rescued by David Ilashley and Martin Traub, who had procured a boat and went with it to the scène of the accident. The body was put into a buggy and hastily taken to Dr. Iddings' office, where eftorts were made to restore him, but all efforts proved of no avail, the body haviDg been in the water a half hour or more before being discovered. The blow is a heavy one to the stricken parents, as he was an unusually bright boy and tlieir only child.
