Bombay, Jan. 19.- The situation Í3 growing rapidly worse and the exodus from this city on account of the bubonic plague continúes. The official returns, issued show that there have been 3,638 cases of the plague recorded and 2,592 deaths from the pestilence. The Times of India complains that the sanitary condition of Bombay 'have been allowed to deteriórate for ten years past. It adds that the whole future trade of the city is involved and that no expense upon the part of the government to stamp out the plague can be too costly.
