Dance at Frecl Stapler's Friday evening. _ Mrs. Ellen T. Alley went to Detroit Friday. Frank Dunlavey moved to Pinkney Monday. Deputy Bell was reappointed by Sheriff Judson. Geo. Reason gave a dancing party at hia home Friday evening. Friday evening the young people gave a surprise party on Ray Beedle. H T. Phelps of Ann Arbor, was a welcome visitor on our streets Saturday. Miss Coyle, sister of John Coyle oí Webster, was a visitor at Gotlieb Helley's, Friday. Henry Wi'son has purchased of Eeubi-n Queal his house and lot on Piety Mili, for $750. The Ch istian Endeavor society gave a Conundrum social at A. Olsavers Friday evening, Jan. 22. Miss Alma Pierce of Chelsea, r - turned home Saturday f rom a visit with her sister, Mrs. Al Condón. Russell Parker's little 4 year olrl son died Saturday, Jan. ltí. Funeral at house Monday, at 1:30 p. m. Rev. Frank fUomfield gave a lecture Wednesday evening at the M. E. ehurch, subject Mark Twaine's limo cents Abroad. The Dexter Vault association met Wednesday and eleeted the fo'lowing oflicers: President, Richard ömith; vicöpresident, Henry ]5ooth; secretary, George Alley. Died at his residence two miles south of this village Sunday. Jan. 17, Amos B Phelps aged 73 years, of quinsy and lung troui le. Funeral was held Tuesday at liis late home, at 1:30 p. m. Mr. Phelps wüs a pioneer resident of Scio township he being the last of his father'sfamily. His wií'e died last spring. Mr. Phelps íeaves three sons and one daughttr. He was a kind father and good neighbor and Íeaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his loss. Jane Hoyt, widow of the late Jesse O. Hoyt, was stricken with paralysis last week, and died Wednesday. IVlrs. Hoyt's maiden name was Jane W. Ludlum. She was born at Goshen. Orange Co.. X. Y.. (58 years ago. t-he was married to Jesse O. Hoyt in 1858, canie to Michigan the same year, and settled at Dexter. Their only son died in lhiili, aged 7 years. Mrs. Hoyt has been a widow 13 ye irs.
