Ever since the warring factions'of isa of 'ÜS harrnonized their differhk! the "Junior Hop" was made a representative class affair. the society people have been anxiously awaiting the outcome. It was desired to see huw the admission of thè independent would elf eet the historie event. 'Jhe party has come and gone, and the re sult luis been one of the most S'iccess ful parties in the long line of brillianf events. 'J he Gym was a bower of beauty Staebler had been given tree reign there, and all the unsightliness was covered. Yellnw and blue was everywhere, and mingled with it the stars and stripes, while numberless electric lights made radiance everywhere. ïhe tigures '98 in electric lights at either end of ïhe room proved tliat the Junior was master, while the great ''M" over the patronesses booth showed that ".Michigan" reigned over hosts and guests. , The grand march led by Mr. Grossbeck, Alpha Delta Phi, and Miss Field of Detroit, carne at 9:30, and ƒ rom that bil] carly dawn, pleasure and happiness held full sway. 'ïhe opening of the woman's gymnasium alt'orded additional space for dancing and promenade, and relieved the erowding which often causes such discomfort. It also afforded better facilities for serving refreshments than have ever before been enjoyed. ïhe catering was by Prettyman, and was all that could be desired. 'laken all in all the party was a pronounced success, and one man remarked that a smile of special pleasure and satisfaction resied npon the face of every independent man in the room. This is not to be wondered at. and was certainly warranted by what they have achieved.
