T he Colleen Bawn a drama in three .acts by Dion Boucicault wil) be given in the Grand opera house for the benefit of the new St. Thomas' church, by the St. Thomas' Dramatic Society, on the 16th inst. The drama is in the nature of a classic and perhaps the mostinteresting of Irish plays. certainly the most interesting stage piece everwritten by Boucieault. The cast of charactersj which contains such well known personae dramatis as Jim Harkins and Miss Xona O'Brien, wil! be as follows: Mylcs na Coppalcen Jim Harkins Hardress Cregan p. a. M. Clarken Ducie ISlennerhassett Mi Gertrude Kress The stase will be under the experienced management of Frank Kennedy, whose work in this line has extended over several years. This is the first Irish playto be staged here by local talent in some time and its production is looked forward to with considerable interest. It is Irish character and history of 100 years ago brought into our own day "by good talent. It is drama wreathed around with simple wit and eloquence; it is religious and consequently ennobling in its every scène. Every person in the cast has had experience on the stage, and a good play is assured The performance will be repeated in Ypsilanti on the even ing of March 17.
