Dr. Harper is here from Detroit. The township board of York met Tuesday. Eugene Ward was home from Saline last Sunday. Dr. (ioldstone returned to Toledo Tuesday night. Mae Alderman came home from Ann Arbor Saturday. Dr. Martin from the University, was in Milan Tuesday. Miss Florence Chapin went to Ann Arbor Wednesday. Mrs. Jesse Redman moved out on har farm this week. Alva Dexter was an Ana Arbor visitor on ïuesday last. Mr. Henry Pullen returned home f rom Fowlerville .Saturday night. Mrs. Ilarry Whitehead has returned to her home at Listowel, Ont. Miss Lena Luick, teacher in the Tecumseh school, is home for vacation. Mrs. Rena Ilarris is visiting her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Lyman Burnham. Miss Leila Kelley came home from Ann Arbor Friday, and returned Tuesday. Frank Van Wormer of Toledo, is giving his many friends in this place a visit. Messrs. Kelley, Wilson and Whitmarsh returned home from Ann Arbor ïuesday. Mrs. .M. M. Davenport of Mooreville, is entertaining her sister, Phebe VVard, of this place. Bessie Daley, teacher of the Grammar room, has gone to her home in Dexter for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holcomb are spending a few days with their daughter and others in Detroit. Glenne Shurtz of Tecumseh, is the guest of her aunts, Mrs. Guy and Mrs. Oarrie Kelsey, this week. Miss Lois Vedder and Bert Palmer of Whittaker, were the guests of Miss Claudia Youngs Saturday. Pierre Segar is rilling the position of day operator in place of Mr. Maclimore, who recently vacated that office. Mrs. It. E. Tripp and son Perry, went to Trenton Saturday, to yisit the former's daughter, Mrs. Jennie Ford. James Gauntlett has established a í millinery department on the second floor of his store, on Main street. Fay Wilcox celebrated her 5th birthday by entertaining alout twenty of her little friands Wednesday afterno n James Clark, teacher of the Shelby selioot, is spending the week's holidays with his paients and friends of tliis place. Mrs. C. M. Blackmere, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Cynthia Farmer of Toledo, returned Tuesday night. A party of young people gave Fred Edwards quite a surprise Tuesday nisrht. Theri were abont thirty present and all reported a good time. The Ladies Relief Corps gave a box social last night in their hall on Main street. A flue program was prepared aud all present enjoyed a pleasant evening. Mrs. Elizabeth EL, widow of the late Daniel T. Hazan of Mil in township, died at her home, four miles south of this villace, at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, aged 75 years. The Odd Fellows have issued invita tiom for a maple suorar party at Guv's Opera House t night. April 24th. Married at the residence of the bride's brotlier, J. L. Marble, March 24th. 181)7, by llev. H.M.Bouek., pastor of the Baptist charch, Mr. Alva Dexter.and Miss Emma King, bnth of this place. The contraeting parties are well and favorably knowu to the people of Milan. Thère were present a seect oompatiy of the personal f riends only. The bride was very tastefully attired in light silk and carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridegroom wore the conventioual black. The refreshments were elegant and served in good taste, and the presents were both ïiumerous and useful. The newly inarried eouple will be "at home" af ter April 15th in their residence one-half mile east of the city.
