Elmer Shafer of Clinton, was in town Sunday. Geo. Miller visited Jackson relatives Sunday last. .School began again Monday, af ter a weeks vacation. Saín Palmer visited in Tecumseh the first of the week. Mrs. J. F. Ohlinger has been very sick the past week. P D. Merithew is moving into one of the Lehn cottages. Miss Myrtie Gage of Tecumseh, arrived in town Monday. (. II. Macomber came home Friday night and remained over Sunday. The Misses Lehn entertain a pnrty of young people at cards this evening.' Clem Aulla of Bridgewater, lost a large barn by flre Tuesday morning. Wm. Burtess went to Buffalo. Saturday, with several carloads of stock. Mrs. E. IJ. Tiss Blanehe Coulson of 'Brooklyn, has been visiting her únele John Goodyear. The boys are planning an Easter party, which we hope may prove suc cessful. Arthur Dean of Jíorvell, will work the Austin Gage farm near town this summer. Miss Blanehe Starks returned Monday evening from a six weeks' visit at Cincninati. Miss Belle Gordinear went to Hud son, Monday, to attend the wedding o her brothrr. Mrs. T. B, Bailey and daughter, Mis Cynthia Bailey, were Teeumseti visit ors Friday last. So much milk ís being received at th cheese factory that another large tani has been required. We learn that flenry Kies will mov onto the Watson farm in Bridgewater near the town hall. The Bimetalic Club met at the township clerk's office Monday evening and listened to a lecture by W. L. Watkins. Mrs. F. A. Rundell and Miss Abbie Chase went to Jackson Tuesday. Miss Chase remained to visit friends a few days. Herbert L. Cope remained over Sunday with Manchester f rinnds, returniag to Albion Monday to resume his studies at the college. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Nisle returned Sunday frorn a week's visit with friends in Brooklyu, Somerset, and other Jackson county towns. James tay, a wealthy and respected farmer living about eight miles west of town, in Xorvell t ownship, died of pneumonía Tuesday morning. John W. Cowling, a former harness dealer of this villagn, but now of Three Rivers, has been visiting his bro her-in law, James A. Field, aud family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morey carne up from Clinton Saturday where they had been spe iding the week with relaiives, and remained over Sundiy with N II.
