T). H. Perkins and wife were in Detroit, VVednesday of last week. Arthur Yan-iekle was called to Williamston, Thursday, to relieve the operator at that place. Mrs. Perking and Mrs. Fred Wheèler were visitors at Detroit the last week. ■ Bussey & Wheeler now have the agency for the lludson bicycle. They report as liaving sold several. s las Chapín and wife visited friends and relatives at Orcliard lake during the past week. N. II. Caverly is turning out quite a number of new harness tor the farmers of this community. As a workman Nate can't be beat. Mrs. Fred Wheeler and daughter are the guests of friends in Ypsilanti. The social at Hiram ïhayer's, Friday, May 21st, was largely attended. vi üsie wás furnished by the Salem Cornet Band and a good iiterary program was also rendered. Mrs. Geo. lïyder has been quite sick the past week. .1. D. Packard and wife Sundayed in Detroit. Miss Jennie VanYorhese is on the sick list. Dr. Waid is attemling lier. The Memorial serviré will be held froni the Baptist churcli. Sunday, May 3Oth, the address to be delivered by the Rev. E. A. Coffln The Maccabees are preparing to present a drama in the near future. On Tuesday afternoon the young ladies of the Baptist society held a quilting and in the evenmg the young men were invited to tea. A very pleasant time was enjoyed by all. All passenger trains on the D. G. R. & V. arrive uow at Salem 10 minutes later. Several of our tovvns people are contemplaüng going to the ííashville ExDosition.
