Chas. Gooth is now a victim of the measles. The Maccabees meet Monday eve for initatory drill. Miss Ethel Doane has been quite sick yith measles. Henry Whipple is on the sick list. Dr. Waid is attending him. The excursión on Memorial day was well represented by Salemites. W alter White'sinfant child died Mon day of congestión of the brain. Fleet Smith of Whitmore Lalte was a caller among friends Tuesday. Miss Ina Stark of South Lyon has been the guest of Kev. O. M. Thrasher and family the past week. The Ladies Aid society met at the home of Mrs. Calvin Wheeler Wednesday. Supper was served to a goodly numbaand a pleasant time reported. The annual fishing party occurs Saturday, June üth at Whitrnore Lake preparations are being made to make it one of the social events of the season. Miss Auspauch, teacher in the west district has just closed a successful i erin of school. The closing exercises were in the way of a school picnic, a good time for all. Peter Coldron an old and respected citizen died at hls home Wednesday, May 26th. Funeral was held from his late residence Friday afternoon. llev. V. II. Ilannaford oliiciating. Memorial exercises were observed with the usual araount of interest ever taken by the citlzens of this community a detail of the Gr. A. R. Tost of Korthville assisted in the ceremonies. Jas. "Robins the manager of our cheese factory reports a daily input of about 7.000 'pounds of mi ík, vhich means nearly 600 pounds of cheese per day. ,lim is a íirst class cheese maker. iSTate Caverly proprietor of the Salem House is making some much needed improyements. Xate says the latch string is on the outside and all are welcome. We can verify the statement by experiences of the past.
