He must be dense indeed who cannot learn a valuable lesson frorn the figures of the spring elections. Voters who were deceived intovoting for McKinley and Hobart last November have had their eyes opened. They were told that a vote for MeKinley and Hobart meant a vote for prosperous times and stability of the ourrency, and tbey have beeu giveu an increased dose of tariff taxation. The promised prosperity is nearly flve mcnthrt overdue, and the nation's nuances are still in the hands of the ruen who have controlled them to their selflsh advantage for more than a decade. Those figures also prove the falsity of the claim that the hosts of bimetallisra were dispersed by their first defeat. Bimetallism is still the great issue before the American people, and the bimetallists of the nation are organized and equipped for the fray. Their defeat last fall has only served to make them more eainest and aggressive, and the hosts of the gold staudard might as well prepare for the onslaught.
