On .Tanuary 4 last Creede aud his wife separate and agreed io dissolve at onc-e as faa as possible without k-gal process then marital bonds. Mrs. Creede accepted $20,000 in cash and surrendered ih further claims upon lier hustoand, a the time voluutarily witlidrawing from hls premises. It was understood aftr the necessary time had elapsed Creede would iustitute legal proceedings and begin suit for absolute di vorce. A't that time it appeared that both husbaiul and wife were well sat isfied that they were not required io n-p.iutain intimata relations and while Mrs. Creede eonsidered that the amount of cash settled npon her was insigniflcant as comparecí wk! her husband's wealtli, she left and teok up her home in Alabama. A.boui three weeks ago Mrs. Creede retumed to Los Angeles and proposed Io her husband a reconcilialion. Thl was nmch to Creede's distaste and he en(U-avored to avoid iiis wife, but being unsuccessful he detennined to end his life. Last evening he took a large dose of morphiue and went into the garden to die. He was discovered by a servant and medical aid sumiaoned, but he died rwohours later.
