Brown boots may be simply and effectively cleaned by rubbing them with a peeled onion and afterward polishing them with a soft cloth. The pressure of a tight shoe may be relieved by applying a cloth, wrung out in boiling water, to it when on the foot. This causes the shoe to stretch and mold itself to the shape of the foot.
