Mrs. Kneiling. of Cadillae, was entertained by 'Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Balla rd last week. The Jlaccafoees of Willis instituted their officers January 24 and concluded the entertainment with an oyster supper. Their lodge is booming. The funeral of the late Daniel Fierce, of Ypsilanti, was largely itteuded. The service at the Ouse was eonducted by the pastor of the Episcopalian ?hurch of Ypsilanti and at the grave by the Jlasonie fratcrnity, of which he was a member. Phoenix Lodge has lost a inenvber in whose heart the principie af brotherhood had taken deep root. As a Master Mason he gave evidence while he lived of fidelity to principie. His adaptibility of mind and body to the stirring times in which he has 'lived lost nnne of the charms for him. As age pressïd heavily upon him and he went to rest as one who wraps the drapery üf hls couch abowt him and lieth down to pleasing dreams. And we are assured that the tender vine in performing lts revelations of grovitli over tUe spot where slumbers his last rmnalns, it wil] whisper peace to his ashes. The press is a cyclone of influei.ce that euthrones mind amid the aura of the intellectual plane. Sweet sixte.in is going up the hill With ribbons, bows and trilla In her divys si;e is pretty as a rose: And her features doth disclose Malden grace Tliis model of the race Whose charms let angels trace Hath never worn a gown on her face.
