James lrven ot Paterson, N. X, was . little inconsiderate when lie told his weetheart, Charlotte Westerer, that fle had learned that the beautiful hair which crowned her head was detachable, and that the rose tint on her cheeks was not oí nature's making, but was produced by the application of a rabbit's foot dipped in powder. Had he shown a little more judgment when he informed his bride-elect of his knowledge he probably would not now be the defendant in a breach of promise suit; neither would he have been citell to appear in court to teil why he should not be sent to prison for peeping into a maiden's bedchamber. It is needless to say that the engagement is off. James and Charlotte have been in love with one another for more than a year. Charlotte is a beautiful girl - in the parlor. A few nights ago James started to cali on her. Charlotte's boudoir is on the first floor of her father's house and the corner window is plaïnly visible from the Street. As James approached he noted that the shade was drawn, and then he saw his dear one halt before the mirror of her room. He could not resist the temptation to look. The sight he saw horrified him. The parlor beauty of Charlotte was in the light of the boudoir manifestationiike the disillusion that come3 with a close view of an impressionist painting. Ten minutes later the engagement was off. Mean, íhings were said of each other and the possibilities are that James will have to pay for his indiscreción.
