The Business Men's Protective association held a meeting Wednesday to take up the qliestion of a street fair and about 25 were present. There is no question now about one being held as every merchant, with a single exeeption, seems heartily in favor of the .novement. All that is needed is a I i t - tíe better quality of enthusiasm. Bvery day counts now and the arrangements caniaot be perfected too quickly to insure a success of the event. It is estimated that it will take about $2,500 in cash to make the street fair a grand success. Of thls amount at least $1,500 can be obtained from privileges, which will leave a balance uf $1,000 to be pledged by the business men. If 50 merehants go into it, this will mean about $20 apiece. The fair will probably last three days. With a crowd of 30,000 strangers which can easily be brought here if the street fair is properly advertised, is there any doubt but that the mercïiant will get nis money back n.any times over? A soliciting committee will make the rounds and report nxt week.
