Bvery one should come to Dexter next Monday. A great big time at the dedieation of the soldiers' monument. Now it is about time to bring out the road-scrapêr and spoil every good road in the county. Mr. Wurster is building a beautiful farm residence on his larm r.ear our village. R. C. Reeve is favorably mentioned as a candidate for represen tative from this district on the Democratie ticket. Theo. Habb died last week of consumption. He was insured for $2,000 in the Maccabees. Rev. Chas. Allen, of the Ypsilanti il. E. chureh, will deliver the oration at the dedieation of the soldiers' monument next Monday. He is a yery eloquent speaker. Let every one, espeeially his old comrades in arms, come and hear him. All of our teachers were at Ypsilanti attending the Washtenaw County Teachers' association last Friday. The cannon that was sent here by the government as a monument to our fallen héroes will probably never be used for this purpose, as many think it would detract from the beauty of our beautiful soldiers' monument. The street commissioner forbade its being placed on the foundation that had been made for it. The common council will back the commissioner by law if necessary.
