It is curlous how untrue reports can get started and more wonderful how, after once started, they can so quickly circuíate. The story was spread all over the city night before last that Albert Long, the musician of Company A, was drowned at Chickamauga. The way the story started was by somebody trying to get a "gag" on a friend and the friend didn't happen to "bite" and took the report for gospel truth and circulated it. The gag runs as folio ws: ■'Did you hear about Albert Long being drowned down South?" "No, how did it happen?" "He was playing 'On the Banks of the Wabash'."
