Sheriff Judson and Rep. A. J. Sawwil! lock horns in this city on June IC. That is the date set for the big show and it promises to be of the most beautiful contests seen in this city. Editor Aloran, of the Register, is expected to be in Mr. Sawyer's corner with a full equipment wels and sponges in case the representative of this district needs bracing, while Deputy Railroad Commtsdemej er will assist in polnting "ut methods of attack and defcnse for the Pingree for The RepubHcan state convention has not yet been called, but the congres! convention is set down for July 20. An early county convention to select delégales to the state convention will undoubtedly help Gov. Pingree, as ü' Judson has the machine well oiled while the amti-Pingree men are not well organized. Deputy Railroad Commissioner Wedemeyer, who holds the job of chairman of the Republican county committee, is not slow to gain a point, and last evening he issued a cali Eor the convention to be ■June 16 to se!. ites to the state and congresslonal conventions. This means only two weeks' hustling for the Sawyer forcea, but it is duubtful, if they had two years to try Eo that they could out-general "Billy" Judson. However, there will be a that u-ill be worth coming miles to see, and it is expected that arrang'ements will be made so that all excurtralns will wait untll after the performance. A most interesting feature of the :ntion will be to see whether meyer or Sawyer will get the congres.sional delegates.
