Memorial day in Ypsilanti was celebrated by the G. A. R. Monday pursuant to program. But it was not the same kind of spirit which has hitherto prevailed- it was a more solemn affair. The Light Guards were not here with their lively, swinging military step, nor was tbere the usual noise made by the commanding offlcers manifest. Everybody feit as though they could see in the old men something in the Uves of their own sons, brothers or friends, haggard and worn of the fislds of Cuba The Parade startèd at the post's headquarters and marched to church whlch theye went to the cemetery went through the usual ex, The Superior band headed the pa EoUowed by the Normal company,which, by the way, made a very fine appear. and then eame the veteran: honor and eulogize. the so'.diers dead, and let us encourage and sympathize with i:
